The first FEE congress on smart buildings, organized by the Belgian Federation of Electricity and Electronics (FEE), welcomed many participants thanks to an interesting program and gripping speakers. Professor Boydens opened the plenary session and advanced the idea of developing an easy interface: a consensus between the user’s wishes, the intelligent algorithm and the actions to be taken. Prof. Boydens made also a plea in favor of an optimized, well-considered and dynamic home automation process. After the interesting parallel sessions, the overall moderator of the day ended the closing plenary session with this conclusion: “We have learned today that still a lot of work has to be done in order to let different (automated) systems work together in an integrated way.
