The EEBus Initiative has released version 1.0 of its interoperability standard. The goal is to standardize most of these technologies/protocols and many others in the world of internet of things and big data. The specifications can be downloaded freely for everybody. A fast implementation of real-world application is possible also for the reason that component technologies such as Modbus, Zigbee or KNX can be combined effortlessly with or integrated into applications based on EEBus.
The EEBus initiative is an initiative in the area of the Internet of things. This initiative is a non-profit organization and develops interoperable Smart Home communication technologies based on a neutral information layer with corresponding data models and their mapping onto different domain specific network technologies. The data model SPINE (Smart Premises Interoperable Neutral Message Exchange), contained in EEBus v1.0, can be transported across multiple communication paths and protocols. A possible transport protocol is IP-based SHIP (Smart Home IP), developed also by the EEBus.
