The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) took place beginning of 2016. CES focused again on smart homes and Internet of Things.
- The Wi-Fi Alliance has approved a new type of low-power, long-range wireless standard, WiFi Halow, for smart home devices.
- The Samsung Smart Control is a remote control that can recognize and control all kinds of devices, including game consoles, TV, dedicated media hubs etc.
- Netatmo launched its smart outdoor security camera Presence. This camera consist of infrared lights to ensure a night vision. Presence is also able to detect and distinguish between cars, people, and animals using a deep learning algorithm.
- The LG Smart ThinQ Hub serves as a gateway to smart sensors and connected appliances in the home. The Smart ThinQ Hub monitors, controls and collects information from home appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, etc.
